Single on vacation: The Family Adventure

In the summer, families gather around tables that stretch out, couples settle in, children run between the chairs — and that question slipped in over dessert. You can dread it, or sit there knowing exactly who you are.

Being single every day: okay, we work, we manage, we take responsibility… And the reward is that a few times a year, we enjoy our freedom for a well-deserved vacation! Being single on vacation gives us complete flexibility in terms of planning, dates, and destination. However, the downside of this wonderful freedom is a little less fun… For some, going on vacation alone can seem like a daunting, anxiety-inducing prospect. Sometimes this prospect seems rather sad or even depressing, to the point where we might consider continuing to work and skipping this period of relaxation and enjoyment…

So, how can we transform this period so that the adventure lives up to our expectations with surprise encounters and unique opportunities?

Here we explore the option of going as a group!

Single: Going away with the family

Going on vacation with family might seem a bit old-fashioned, and in some cases downright anxiety-inducing (in which case, skip directly to the next chapter!). Yet, it could be one of the most enriching experiences, allowing us to rediscover our loved ones from a different perspective. Whether traveling with children, parents, siblings, and/or cousins, relationships can truly be transformed in a positive way during this escape from the everyday routine.

Stepping outside their usual environment, everyone will be more inclined to let go and communicate, offering an opportunity to rediscover one another and strengthen bonds. Indeed, we ourselves realize that we have changed: we have evolved. Sometimes, our loved ones have retained an image of our former selves in their subconscious. The reverse is also true: our loved ones have also changed, and this is a wonderful opportunity to rediscover them or discover their new selves (e.g., Sister version 2.3).

Below is a list of the different options:

  1. Multigenerational Holidays Multigenerational vacations are an excellent option for singles who want to share quality time with their children and other extended family members. Whether with grandparents, uncles, aunts, or cousins, traveling in a group offers a unique opportunity to strengthen family bonds while creating unforgettable memories. By planning a multigenerational vacation, singles can benefit from the support and companionship of their loved ones while sharing responsibilities and travel expenses. Furthermore, traveling in a group provides a friendly and fun atmosphere that will make the trip even more enjoyable for everyone.
  2. Family Holiday CentersFamily holiday resorts are another attractive option for singles traveling with children. These resorts typically offer a range of activities suitable for all ages, professionally supervised kids' clubs, and facilities and amenities designed to entertain the whole family. By staying at a family holiday resort, singles can enjoy a safe and friendly environment where their children can have fun and make new friends, while also having the opportunity to relax and recharge. Many destinations also offer all-inclusive packages, making holiday planning and budgeting easier.
  3. Family Adventure TripsFor single adventure seekers, family adventure travel can be an exciting option. Whether it's trekking in the mountains, exploring the jungle, or going on safari, there are a multitude of opportunities for single families looking for active and stimulating holidays. Family adventure travel offers a unique chance to create unforgettable memories by sharing exciting experiences and discovering new places together. Furthermore, traveling in a group allows children to meet other children of the same age, which can make the trip even more socially enriching.

Going on a solo family holiday might seem daunting, but with the right options and careful planning, it can be a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Whether you choose a multigenerational vacation, a stay at a family holiday resort, or a family adventure trip, the important thing is to cherish every moment spent with your children and create memories that will last a lifetime.
