Single: when our freedom becomes a prison

By choosing to be alone, by choosing to travel, constantly moving without attachment, we unconsciously chose this solitude and created a gilded cage for ourselves, in which travel gives us an illusion of freedom. We locked ourselves in and deliberately lost the key, and with time, it's as if the walls of the cage are imperceptibly closing in…

Because this key simultaneously involves suffering, exposing oneself, being betrayed, sometimes crying, losing, feeling hurt and vulnerable.
But we don't always want to relive those feelings, but by losing the key, we also lose the knowledge of the other, there is a deep feeling of being important to someone, this feeling of living, constantly in someone's heart, in someone's gaze, feeling a presence permanently with me, a sweetness, a serenity, sharing my daily life with another soul than my own, not only to no longer be alone but above all to share more, to live better, to live happily.

Ah, solitude! That daring choice we make, a bit like choosing to live in a gingerbread house, with the sweet irony of finding ourselves trapped inside. For you adventurers of the modern world, who prefer to be alone on a mountaintop or in luxury hotels on the other side of the globe, it's time to take stock. Yes, that same check-up you avoid like a dentist's appointment after the last episode of your favorite TV series.

1. Independence: a Gilded Cage

By choosing this life of wandering, you've erected a golden prison. You're the king or queen of your own kingdom, but the throne's a bit cold, isn't it? Every time you set off on a journey, there's that sweet melancholy that follows you, like a cat that wants you to pet it before you leave. You love freedom, but at what price? Feeling alone at the top of the hierarchy is a bit like being the only one applauding at a concert: it's beautiful, but there's no one there to share the emotion.

2. Chosen Vulnerability: Voluntary Abandonment

We've lost the key to our prison, and let's face it, we may have swept it under the rug, right next to the door to the heart. Because this key opens the door to pain, betrayal and tears. But by losing it, you've also given up the chance to feel what it's like to be important to someone. As the old saying goes: "You can't have it both ways", can you? So why lock yourself away in golden solitude when the world is full of beautiful souls ready to share their daily lives?

3. The Paradox of Connection

We live in a world where we're on the move in the blink of an eye, but who do we share these moments with? Have you ever thought that sharing your daily life doesn't just mean avoiding loneliness, but above all living a richer, happier life? Because, let's be honest, a good meal is always better when shared with someone. Even a burger can become a feast when we laugh together, can't it?

Conclusion

Chosen solitude may seem seductive, but it can quickly turn into a gilded cage. By facing up to vulnerability and accepting to share your life with others, we open the door to a wealth of authentic experiences and connections. So why not take that key and see where it leads? After all, life is a journey, but it's not an adventure you have to go through alone.
